St. Paul, MN. – Today, ProAct Inc. an in-center, virtual, and community-based service provider for individuals with disabilities, joined Minnesota’s disability community at the Capitol to rally and advocate for the rights of every person to live an independent life on their terms.
“For adults with all levels of ability, self advocacy is one of the most important skills you can learn,” said Stephanie Osman, Senior Program Manager at ProAct Eagan & Hudson. “At ProAct, we pride ourselves on providing the foundation that our over 700 participants need to ensure they have the opportunity to live their best lives and to be their own chief advocates.”
ProAct has served people with disabilities for over 50 years through a variety of programs like day support services, employment services, and individualized home supports with the mission of maximizing individual potential for greater self-sufficiency.
“It is crucial that as our lawmakers discuss policy and budgetary concerns that they don’t leave the disability community behind,” said Judie Foster-Lupkin, President & CEO of ProAct Inc. “With proper support, individuals with disabilities live independent and rewarding lives. They give back to their community through volunteering and they strengthen our local economy through employment. When people with disabilities receive the support they need, they thrive, and when they thrive, we all thrive.”
